Intelligent Quality Management Systems

This course provides an advanced understanding of quality management frameworks and their integration with digital manufacturing systems. Students will study global standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other sector-specific quality systems relevant to manufacturing industries. Emphasis is placed on digital quality management, documentation, audit processes, and continuous improvement methodologies. Through real-world case studies, students learn how to implement and sustain effective quality management systems within smart, connected, and globally competitive manufacturing environments.

Lean Six Sigma and Process Intelligence

This course introduces the principles and methodologies of Lean and Six Sigma for process improvement and operational excellence. Students will learn to identify waste, reduce variation, and enhance value using the DMAIC framework and statistical tools. The course integrates digital technologies such as IoT and automation to enable real-time quality improvement and process optimisation. Practical case studies from manufacturing and service industries, including automotive applications, are used to demonstrate how data-driven improvement initiatives can enhance productivity and quality performance.

Quality Data Analytics and AI-Driven Decision Making

This course focuses on the assessment and control of risks affecting product quality and system reliability. Students learn to apply tools such as FMEA, fault tree analysis, and reliability modeling to ensure product and process robustness. The course integrates digital tools for risk visualisation and compliance with standards like ISO 31000 and IATF 16949. Emphasis is placed on proactive risk management to enhance reliability and customer satisfaction in advanced manufacturing environments.

Risk, Compliance and Reliability Engineering

This course provides a strategic framework for integrating the critical disciplines of risk management, regulatory compliance, and reliability engineering into a unified system for organisational excellence. Students will explore the fundamental principles of risk assessment and mitigation, including tools like FMEA, FTA, and HACCP. Furthermore, it covers reliability engineering concepts, including life data analysis, Weibull distribution, reliability prediction, and Design for Reliability (DfR), to ensure products and systems perform as intended over time.

Strategic Quality Leadership and Innovation

This course redefines quality as an organisation’s most potent engine for growth and value creation. It moves beyond the philosophy of “zero defects” to the strategy of “unique value propositions.” Students will learn how to use the tools and principles of quality to drive strategic innovation, enter new markets, and create unparalleled customer experiences that define industry standards. The course focuses on practical leadership skills for influencing C-suite executives and securing strategic investment in quality initiatives.
