Admission

Entry Requirements

Candidates with one of the following criteria will be eligible to be considered for admission to pursue studies in the programme:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Computing or related fields with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 or equivalent, as accepted by the HEP Senate OR
  2. A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Computing or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment OR
  3. A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in Computing or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 can be accepted subject to a minimum of FIVE (5) years of working experience in the related fields and rigorous internal assessment; OR
  4. Candidates without a qualification in the related fields or relevant working experience must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses as determined by the HEP and meet a minimum CGPA of 2.50 with a minimum of FIVE (5) years of working experience in the related fields and rigorous internal assessment; OR
  5. Other qualifications equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in the field of Computing or related fields recognised by the Government of Malaysia must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses as determined by the HEP.
APEL Entry: Turning Experience into Credentials

Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) provides an opportunity for individuals with working experience but lack of formal academic qualifications to pursue their tertiary studies. APEL involves the identification, documentation and assessment of prior experiential learning to determine the extent to which an individual has achieved the desired learning outcomes, for access to a programme of study.

Applicants should comply with the following admission criteria stipulated by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA):

The candidate should be:

  • The applicant shall be 30 years of age in the year of application with at least STPM/Diploma/equivalent qualifications and must possess relevant work experience.
  • Pass the APEL.A assessment for Master’s Degree level.
