Signal Integrity for High Speed Design

The course aims to expose you to the fundamentals of signal integrity for high speed design.

In this course, introduction of signal integrity, basics of electromagnetics, transmission line theory, physical characteristics of interconnects, cross-talks, differential and single ended signalling, features of IO devices, signal equalization and statistical analysis, jitter, package modelling, power integrity and S-parameters will be covered in detail.

You will find a gradual increase in hands-on activities as you progress through the various units. At the end of this course, you will be able to acquire essential knowledge and skills in signal integrity for high speed design work. The course covers industry-relevant assignments.

On successful completion of this course, you will:
Explain the signal propagation theory and its guiding principles in electromagnetic theory
Design the interconnects using transmission line concepts to meet required signal integrity specifications both in time and frequency domains
Evaluate signal integrity issues from theory and applications perspectives

Dr. Arjuna Marzuki graduated with B.Eng. in Electronic Engineering from the University of Sheffield, MSc. from Universiti Sains Malaysia, and Ph.D. from Universiti Malaysia Perlis. He is currently an Associate Professor with the School of Technology and Engineering Science, Wawasan Open University. He is a professional engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia and a Chartered Engineer registered with the UK Engineering Council. He is also a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
