WOU successfully hosted WOUTECH’24, a showcase of capstone projects that demonstrate tertiary students’ creativity and inventiveness in technology and engineering. Held at the WOU main campus on 9 November 2024, the event brought together students, industry experts, and tech enthusiasts who engaged in a productive day of innovation, exploration, and cutting-edge advancements.

WOUTECH’24 offers a valuable platform to showcase innovation and gain expert insights.

“WOUTech’24 provides a platform for students to exhibit their knowledge, skills, and creativity in engineering, science, and technology through their projects,” said Dr Hushnie Haron, Lecturer at WOU’s School of Technology and Engineering Science (STE) and WOUTECH’24 organising chairperson.

“By participating, students gain exposure to research and innovation, engage in healthy competition, and are inspired to think creatively and innovatively. The event also empowers them to contribute to the dissemination of pioneering ideas and technologies, nurturing their growth as future leaders in engineering and technology,” he added.

In his welcome address, Dean of STE, Assoc Prof Ts Dr Sean Tan Koon Tatt, expressed his pride in the students’ achievements, which were instrumental to the event’s success.
