On 9th December 2023, Wawasan Open University received its Strategic Partner Appreciation Certificate at Penang Goes Orange (PGO) 2023 Campaign Closing Ceremony, which was held at SMK Tasek Mutiara, Simpang Ampat. A successful year of partnership with PWDC and Penang State Government.  In conjunction with this WOU had conducted its strategic partner activity on “Anti Bully” at Penang Free School on the 30th November, 2023.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sohaimi Saad, gave an informative talk on the legal impacts of bullying and also provided insights into identifying different forms of bully. The talk ended with quiz sessions conducted by Center for Foundation Studies lecturers Pn. Rabikha Hasni, Pn. Nazirah bt Md Yusof and Pn. Errna Nadhirah bt Kamalulil led by Ms. Jasmine Emmanuel. Executive Dean of the School of Business and Administration, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gary Tan too attended this program and delivered his inspiring talk to the pupils.

Dr. Lalitha Ramasamy represented WOU and received the certificate from YB Lim Swee Khim, EXCO Pembangunan Sosial, Kebajikan dan Hal Ehwal Bukan Islam and witnessed by Dato’ Ong Bee Leng, CEO PWDC.

On the other hand, Dr Lalitha Ramasamy also received certificate of appreciation for her contribution to the success of PGO 2023. Dr Lalitha has conducted 10 awareness talk on the topic of “Anti Bully” in the schools in Penang from 25th November to 8th December, 2023 in support of PGO 2023 campaign. Her numerous contributions were appreciated with a certificate of appreciation.

Penang Goes Orange is an adaptation of the International Orange Day since 2014 to end violence against women.
