Wawasan Open University (WOU) attended Penang Adventist Hospital’s (PAH) Community Health Ambassadors (CHA) Appreciation Luncheon, a special event recognising the contribution and dedication of volunteers supporting its health awareness and community outreach activities across Penang.

As one of PAH’s strategic partners, WOU was proud to be part of this special occasion that brought together healthcare professionals, volunteers, educators, and community partners under one roof. The event highlighted the importance of collaboration in creating healthier and more informed communities.

Representing WOU at the event was Senior Student Recruitment Specialist, Vincent Kang Wei Keong, who received a certificate of appreciation in recognition of WOU’s continuous support and collaboration with PAH.

Vincent Kang (second row, first from left) represented WOU at the event.

The CHA programme was first introduced as a state-level volunteer initiative aimed at empowering members of the public to become health ambassadors within their communities. According to reports, the programme focuses on raising awareness of common health issues while encouraging active community participation in health-related activities.

The award recognises WOU’s support for PAH’s community outreach initiatives.

Established in 1924, PAH is widely recognised for its people-centred healthcare services, charity initiatives, and strong emphasis on community wellness and preventive care.

WOU looks forward to continuing its collaboration with community-focused organisations such as PAH in supporting initiatives that create positive social impact and promote healthier communities for all.
