Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) is a systematic process governed by MQA that involves the identification, documentation, and assessment of prior experiential learning (your knowledge, skills, and competencies) for admission to a degree programme or course exemptions within selected degree programmes.
APEL recognises learning from multiple sources: work experience, professional training, workshops, seminars, MOOCs, self-directed study, and even volunteering. If your prior learning aligns with programme outcomes, it counts.
