Wawasan Open University (WOU) is on track towards establishing a higher visibility and making a greater impact in the Klang Valley with the opening of yet another regional support office – the Subang Regional Support Office.
Along with the Bandar Utama and the newly-opened Klang RSO, this will support the Kuala Lumpur Regional Office in its mission and tasks to bring higher education via open distance learning to the adult population in the central region.
The new Subang RSO is to be headed by Assistant Manager Mohd Shuib Md Jadi who will be supported in the daily operations by Wang Soo Fung.
Its prompt opening is rather remarkable since it was incorporated into WOU’s regional expansion network plan only last year. The groundwork in identifying and deciding a suitable site commenced early March this year.

Director of Regional Operations and Marcom KH Chong explained that this particular site in the township of Bandar Sunway is strategically located within a highly-populated area of Petaling Jaya.
“In order to better serve the working population from the industrial zones, corporate sector, government and other organisations in the Klang Valley, we have set up this support office. With its establishment, we are confident of reaching out to a larger segment of prospective students in Subang, Puchong and the entire PJ area, and of offering our best services possible,” he stated, highlighting that the Klang RSO will cover Klang right up to Shah Alam, while Bandar Utama RSO focuses on Bandar Utama and its vicinity.
The Subang RSO is an all-purpose student centre offering a comprehensive list of support services to encourage and assist the local workforce in pursuing career advancement options at WOU. Interested individuals can drop by for a heart-to-heart talk and advice on the kind programmes and courses to pursue to meet their personal and professional needs.
The office also offers other student-centred services like registration and enrolment of courses, guidance on the scholarships and loans available, fees collection, and attending to their concerns and grievances.
