WOU sponsors 31st Piala Bapak Malaysia (Wanita)

(25-26 August 2007)

Wawasan Open University and Penang Turf Club were the main sponsors of the 31st Piala Bapak Malaysia (Wanita) 2007, a ladies golf tournament organised to coincide with the 50th Merdeka Celebrations. The tournament, held at the Penang Turf Club, brought together more than 60 amateur lady golfers from around the country to compete for the challenge trophy.

Piala Bapak, donated by the nation's Father of Independence, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra al-Haj, in 1977. For the past 30 years, this annual tournament has been held in memory of and as a tribute to our first Prime Minister.

Toh Puan Dato’ Seri Utama Hajah Majimor Shariff, consort of the Governor of Penang, graced the luncheon and prize presentation ceremony on August 26th.
