Wawasan Open University paid out claims under the Group Term Life Insurance to the kin of two senior, long-serving staff who passed away this year.
Penang Regional Centre Director K. Manoharan passed away from lung cancer on June 6th while Academic Counsellor Cheah Kee Sam from the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre passed away on May 6th from a heart attack. Both leave behind a wife and two sons.

PROF HO PRESENTS THE CHEQUE TO SANJEEVAN.
The late Mano’s younger son Sanjeevan received the cheque from Vice Chancellor Prof Dato’ Dr Ho Sinn Chye at an informal presentation ceremony at the main campus on October 11th. On hand to witness were Chairman of WOU’s Board of Governors Tan Sri Emeritus Prof Gajaraj Dhanarajan and Human Resources Director Shirley Khoo.
Sanjeevan, 28, is a Communications Director for some three years with Pink Tiger Media, Penang, a British offshore full-service strategy, marketing and public relations agency,
specialising in the financial services and technology sectors. Having a degree from Universiti Sains Malaysia, he plans to do his Master’s in the near future as per his late father’s wishes.
Prof Ho also presented cheques for the family of the late Mr Cheah to older son Siong Hon, at Menara PGRM, Cheras, on October 26th. Also present were Director of Klang Valley Regional Operations Adrian Siew and KLRC head Geoffrey Kee.

Siong Hon, is a Senior Manager at Baker Tilly Monteiro Heng, an established chartered accounting firm in Bangsar. He acknowledged that his father was a lifelong learner and avid reader who liked to absorb knowledge.
