ADRIAN SIEW HANDS OVER CHEQUE TO PASTOR ALVIN TAN

ADRIAN AND AUDREY WITH YEAR THREE KIDS FROM THE HOME
The staff and students from WOU’s Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre (KLRC) recently brought cheer to the children of Yayasan Sunbeams Home, Cheras. They had raised a total of RM2,430 through a charity event organised last year.
WOU Director of Regional Operations for Klang Valley, Adrian Siew, presented a cheque for the amount to the Founder/Chairman of the Home, Pastor Alvin Tan, today.
Also accompanying Adrian on his visit to the Home was Head of KLRC, Audrey Keong. They met and chatted with the Year Three teacher and pupils in one of the home-schooled classes.
The funds donated to the Home were raised through a Charity Fun Fair held at the KLRC on 15th November, 2014. The event ,which drew a crowd of over 400, built better rapport amongst the students and between them and the KLRC staff.

THE CHARITY FUN FAIR AT KLRC
According to Adrian, they chose Yayasan Sunbeams as the beneficiary of their charity drive as the money would be useful for purchasing basic items for the home and for the school-going children. “I want to thank our students, staff, tutors, vendors, and their families and friends who joyfully participated in the fun fair to help these less-fortunate children. I hope it will help them somewhat to buy food, medicines, supplements, and other necessary personal and household items.”
Yayasan Sunbeams Home is a non-governmental and self-supporting organisation that relies on donations from well-wishers to sustain its charitable work. It currently has about 120 children in its homes. It welcomes orphaned, abused, neglected and abandoned children, and children from broken families, no matter what their background or ethnicity might be. The Home has since expanded its services to caring for the elderly and providing provisions to Orang Asli groups, poor families, and single parents.
