Senior academics from the main campus represented WOU at the Orientation proceedings organised by the Regional Centres of Penang (PGRC), Kuala Lumpur (KLRC), Johor Bahru (JBRC), Kuching (KCRC) and Ipoh (IPRC).
Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof Madhulika Kaushik attended the event in Kuching, which took place at i-CATS West Campus for the very first time. Previous orientations had all been held at the Sarawak State Library. She also witnessed the freshmen taking the students’ pledge, led by Priscilla Christopher, who is enrolled in Bachelor of Business (Hons) in Accounting.

Heartfelt appreciation goes out to all the WOU students who help spread word of the University to friends, family and loved ones. The 10 Star Ambassadors, who referred between 3 and 5 students to study at WOU during the January and April 2016 intake, were rewarded under the WOU Friends & Family Programme. They – 7 from PGRC and 3 from KLRC – each received RM200 worth of shopping/gift vouchers and a certificate.
At KLRC, Star Ambassador Sankar Silvarajoo, a business degree student pursuing Banking & Finance in WOU, motivated the new students with his talk on ‘Student Life at WOU’. Similar talks by alumni/student representatives were held elsewhere as well.
