Visit of Taiwanese E-Learning delegation to WOU headquarters

Key representatives of six e-learning content providers who participated in the 2007 e-Learning Showcase and Conference in Penang paid a brief visit to the WOU Headquarters.

The 10-member team was led by Chien-Kuo Pang, Chief Consultant of the Chinese Digital Content Association. Chien said that Taiwanese companies have been developing e-Learning materials extensively in recent years and these may prove useful to WOU for its Open Distance Learning (ODL) approach.

The group discussed possible collaborations with the education technologists at WOU. Dr Tan Toh Wah, Dean of the School of Foundation Studies, said that the Chinese Studies course being planned for the proposed Bachelor of Liberal Arts programme will certainly benefit from the collaboration.
