International Consultant and Research Adviser for Cambodia’s Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, Dr Michael S. Parer, and the Rector of Norton University, Prof Chan Sok Khieng, paid a visit to WOU Headquarters. Dr Parer is also the Director of Developing Cambodia by Degrees (DCD), an NGO for Graduate Research and Open e-Learning Development.
The visit was part of their ongoing endeavour to learn more about setting up an open distance learning institution in Cambodia. The idea of setting up Open University Cambodia was conceived two years ago.

Dr Parer and Prof Chan met up with WOU Vice Chancellor Dato’ Emeritus Prof Gajaraj Dhanarajan, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof Wong Tat Meng and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Operations) Dr Seah Soo Aun to seek their advice and expertise.

The Director of Educational Technology, Prof Ng Wai Kong, later briefed the visitors on the educational support provided by the department to the university.
