Greetings from Wawasan Open University (WOU)!
We are pleased to announce that the 13th Convocation Ceremony will be held on 26 – 27 November and 3 December 2022 at the Wawasan Open University Main Campus, Penang, for the following categories of students:
- Those who have graduated in April 2022
- Those who have been identified as eligible to graduate in November/December 2022
Online registration will be open from 12 – 26 October 2022.Â

We have compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about the ceremony. Â The following are some pertinent information that you must note:

As you will be attending only one of the sessions, kindly view the â€˜Sessions and Proceedingsâ€™ section to know the details of your session.
You must regularly check the details of your session as any changes will be updated there.Â
Two (2) ticketed guests per graduand/graduate will be allowed to enter the ceremony hall to witness this ceremony. The guest tickets will be distributed to graduands/graduates during registration at WOU on the ceremony day.
Non-ticketed guests are not allowed to enter the ceremony hall. However, there will be live streaming at the nearby hall, i.e. Lecture Theatre 2, and also on YouTube.Â Children below 5 years old are not allowed to enter the ceremony hall.
All graduands/graduates must be dressed in formal/traditional attire.Â Casual or revealing outfits such as T-shirts, shorts, Bermuda pants, tank tops, jeans and sandals are not allowed.Â Graduands/Graduates in inappropriate attire may not be presented on stage.
COLLECTION OF ACADEMIC DRESS
Graduands/Graduates who wish to collect their academic dress early, i.e. before your convocation ceremony day, will be able to do so on the following dates:
Graduands/Graduates who are not able to do early collection, can collect the academic dress during Convocation Day. Please refer to the â€˜Sessions and Proceedingsâ€™ for the collection time.
RETURNING OF ACADEMIC DRESS
All graduands/graduates must attend rehearsal prior to the ceremony.
Please do not to bring along your personal belongings (bags, flower bouquets, etc.) into the ceremony hall. Family members and guests of graduands/graduates are not allowed to enter the ceremony hall during rehearsal.
Upon registration, each graduand/graduate will be given a face mask in the standard colour determined by the University to be worn during this ceremony.
COVID-19 STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES
All graduands/graduates and guests must comply with the current COVID-19 SOPs as stipulated by the government of Malaysia. We encourage you and your guests to take the COVID-19 RTK-AG-SELF TEST before you come for the ceremony. As a precaution, graduands/graduates and guests who have COVID-19 symptoms should not attend the ceremony.
Limited parking is available within the WOU Main Campus premises.Â Parking inside the campus will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.
