Dalat International School, with the support of WOU, presented a fundraising musical by its students that managed to raise close to RM8, 000 in aid of needy heart patients at the Penang Adventist Hospital (PAH).
An original musical, “Take Two” written by Dalat’s drama club members under the guidance of teacher and drama director Mark Sasse was staged in front of a 300-strong audience at the WOU main campus.

This is the second consecutive year WOU is partnering with Dalat to benefit a charitable organisation in Penang. All proceeds from the event was channelled to the hospital’s Heart Patients’ Fund set up in 1988 to provide financial assistance to patients who cannot afford heart surgeries.
“Take Two” opened with the scene of Aubrey Culpepper, a jingle writer, rejecting her love Jaden for the handsome Humphrey, only to leave Humphrey at the altar on their wedding day. Unbeknownst to Aubrey is the existence of a film crew from the ‘other world’ who is actually directing the course of her life.
THE WEDDING GETS INTERRUPTED.
The plot gets more complicated as flamboyant director Floomenburg, who keeps veering off script when it comes to Aubrey’s life, is banished to the real world to judge Aubrey’s love problems on a reality show called Love Court.
THE ‘LOVE COURT’ IS IN SESSION.
The show proved to be rather entertaining with the audience kept in stitches by the students’ zany antics and hilarious performances.
PAH President and CEO Dato’ Teddric Jon Mohr, in his speech, recorded his appreciation for the charity effort undertaken to raise funds for needy heart patients.
