Programme description

Intelligent systems are used in homes, in government organisations, in the manufacturing and service industries, as well as in the defence and aerospace industries. Non-invasive diagnoses of diseases will depend more and more on intelligent imaging equipment. Governments are also expected to use intelligent systems more widely for planning and decision-making. Faced with global competition, industry will use such systems to improve productivity and promote innovative product development. Intelligent planning and decision making are also vital tools in promoting sustainable development.

Job prospects

This programme will give you a strong grounding in computing and artificial intelligence (AI) tools so that you can use intelligent systems effectively to increase productivity. You will be well suited for careers in the hi-tech industrial, security and medical equipment sectors. You may choose from positions such as AI Applications Developer, Expert Systems’ Developer, Image Processing Engineer, Systems Simulation Engineer, Knowledge Engineer, Intelligent Systems Engineer, Research and Development Engineer, Systems Security Engineer, Systems Consultant and Product Engineer.
