Assessment
is a key

in ODL.
It will
serve as
a
motivational
tool to
you as
it
creates
learning
opportunities
through
the
provision
of
feedback.
This
will
lead to
the
achievement
of the
intended
outcomes.
Types of
Assessment
Your
final
grade
for each
course
will
depend
on your
performance
in the
continuous
assessment
and the
final
examination.

Continuous
assessment
may
consist
of
tutor-marked
assignments
(TMAs),
short
tests,
quizzes,
projects,
laboratory
sessions
and
participation
in
online
forums.
These
will
be
assessed
by
your
personal
tutors.

The
final
examinations
are
conducted
at
the
end
of
every
semester
and
will
usually
be
held
at
designated
examination
centres.
It is
necessary
to pass
both the
continuous
assessment
and
final
examination
components
to
achieve
a pass
status
for each
course.
