Explore University Life Workshop
The 'Explore University Life' workshop aims to help young people think about their future and career options by linking their current interests, skills and aptitude with potential courses and programmes available to them after they leave school. They will also be exposed to the various avenues of funding available to them for their studies as well as get acquainted with the skills that they will need to succeed in their university lives.
Certificate in Practical Goods and Services Tax (GST)
WOU Training Academy (WTA), a subsidiary of Wawasan Open University (WOU), is pleased to offer the above certificate course to the public. The course is jointly organized by WTA and KAC Advisory Services (KAC) and validated by WOU.
The course consists of the following chapters or modules:
- Chapter 1: Introduction and understanding of GST (2 days)
- Chapter 2: GST accounting and tax codes usage (2 days)
- Chapter 3: Practical application, analysis and GST audits (2 days)
- Assessment: Examination (½ day)
Participants who completed the entire course and passed the examination will be awarded the Certificate of Achievement. Exemption of Chapter 1 can be given to participants who have attended GST training and possessed good fundamental GST knowledge. Participants can also attend individual chapters instead of the entire course.
The course will be conducted by trainers who are GST agents, MIA practicing accountants, university lecturer and former customs officer in GST division. Classes will be held in Kuala Lumpur and Penang, on weekdays and weekends, in English and Mandarin. The course fee is HRDF claimable. Wawasan Open University's Centre for Professional Development and Continuing Education (PACE) offers short courses for people who wish to update their knowledge and remain productive and relevant in their work environment.
Any single course or a mix of courses offered by any of the four schools (Business and Administration; Science and Technology; Education, Languages and Communications; and Humanities and Social Sciences) may be taken to suit individual interests and training needs.
Upon completion of the assessment requirements of the course, students are awarded a Certificate of Achievement. If the assessment is not completed, a Certificate of Completion is offered.
