PACE extends the learning resources of Wawasan Open University (WOU) beyond the university’s distance learning environment by delivering high quality courses and training programmes to meet the needs of all sectors of the community including those who are in employment. PACE is a bridge between the community and the university.

PACE’s programmes are designed and delivered in association with academic colleagues from the University, external professional bodies as well as through its own academic teams. The broad reach of the Centre and its collaborative approach enables the Centre to develop and deliver high-level courses to meet individual needs as well as those of organisations and the professions seeking to stay ahead in the increasingly competitive market for skilled personnel. PACE has the resources to develop or customise third-party courses to meet specific training needs of organisations.

For individuals there are programmes conducted periodically to develop their career aspirations to move forward or bring about a change in career direction, prepare for university study or simply learning more about subjects of their interest.

PACE in collaboration with WOU’s School of Education, Languages and Communications (SELC) offers a range of general and academic English language programmes, cultural programmes and English teacher training programmes (TESOL) for Malaysian and international students in Malaysia and visiting groups from other countries.

Courses are open to all learners, and no formal qualifications are required for most of its courses. PACE’s courses provide you with the opportunity to develop your intellectual and cultural interests and to achieve your specific learning goals.

PACE operates out of the University’s campus in Kuala Lumpur, but its courses may be conducted at the main campus in Penang, any of the regional offices of the University spread across the country as well as from third-party or client’s own premises.
