Public Seminar

"Towards Betterment: 5S & Kaizen"

Wawasan Open University and Persatuan Alumni AOTS Malaysia (PAAM) will jointly organise a seminar on Kaizen in conjunction with Japan Festival in Malaysia (JFM) Year 2008, as follows:

Date: Saturday, 16 August 2008
Time: 1:30 pm – 6:00 pm
Venue: Lecture Theatre 2, Level 5, Albukhary Building
WOU Main Campus
54, Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah, Penang

Kaizen – a Japanese term – is a proactive action to continuously improve the quality, cost and delivery of products or services. It requires small changes to methods employed for better performance and results. The seminar aims to help participants to: learn the steps necessary to transform to a Best Practice Operation, learn how to implement Kaizen and 5S, and learn new techniques on how to improve efficiency.

The speakers are Theodore Wong Kit Choy, general manager of a Japanese multinational corporation in Shah Alam, and Lim Eng Swee, technical lecturer and interpreter for Panasonic Group of Companies.

The seminar is open to WOU students, staff and members of the public.
