In Penang, students started streaming in as early as 8 am to register and collect goodie bags of WOU pens, t-shirts, bookmarks, and Orientation CDs.

Students paid rapt attention as Director of Penang RO, K. Manoharan delivered his speech to welcome the new batch of students. In his address, chairman of the Penang Student Council, Calvin Yeoh spoke briefly of his experience studying at WOU since January 2007, earning the applause of those present.

A pre-recorded speech by the VC Tan Sri Raj was shown on the screen. Students were then invited to recite the Ikrar Mahasiswa (Student Oath) led by Bachelor of Technology in Electronics (Hons) student Mohd Johari bin Ishak.

Cruisers from English radio station, Red.fm entertained the city folks during their stop in the vicinity of the Kuala Lumpur RO.

We hope that with the continued support and assistance rendered, our students will persevere along their journey of education until graduation.
