All the participants deserve praise and congratulations for their steely effort and for braving the waters to paddle to the finish in this 100m race. A total of seven teams participated in the singles and five teams in the doubles kayak race.

Following a simple balloting to determine the sequence of rounds for the teams to compete, the race commenced with each team required to circle a flag at the mid-point and head back to the starting line.

Thrilled with his first runner-up in singles and champions trophy in doubles, he quipped, “We practised only twice for the doubles. Since I do not know swimming, kayaking is a good way for me to get into the water.”
