Biodata:

Jasmine Selvarani Emmanuel joined Wawasan Open University in April 2005 as a senior lecturer. She was also the acting dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and helped to set up the school in the first one and half years of WOU. Prior to that she served as the Deputy Vice-President (Academic Affairs) and the Head of the School of English and Pre-University/Compulsory Studies, Disted-Stamford College, Penang.

Her initial years in the education field were spent as a teacher and the Head of the English Language Department in the three different residential schools and the USM matriculation programme(Year 1). She served as English Language Resource personnel at state and national levels, with the National Curriculum Development Centre and the Schools Division(Ministry of Education) as a curriculum trainer.  She has also written curriculum packages for two language institutions for the teaching of TOEIC and BULATS to participants from the corporate industry and public sectors, including Matsushita, Maybank, FMM and Bank Negara.

She is a certified and accredited international examiner for the IELTS examination under the University of Cambridge, England and has trained and examined students and lecturers from USM, UUM, KDU, UniversitiMalaysia Perlis, Inti University, Taylor’s and Metropolitan Colleges under IDP Australia.
