Q : What are Wawasan Open’s entry requirements?
A : Candidates with the following criteria will be eligible to be considered for admission into the degree programmes:

(1) Regular Entry
      For candidates who possess a minimum of Two (2) Princip
als in STPM or equivalent qualifications.

(2) Open Entry

(I) Age
    Candidates must be at least 21 years of age on 1st January of the year of application.
 
(II) Academic Qualifications
 
  a. STPM/HSC/A-Levels with at least One (1) Principal or other equivalent qualifications can be accorded direct entry into the degree programmes
     
    OR
     
  b. PMR/SPM/MCE/UEC or equivalent qualifications subject to an assessment of work experience, prior learning experience and/or a diagnostic test to assess the academic aptitude, interest and suitability for tertiary level studies.
    Candidates who are found not to have demonstrated the capacity to undertake tertiary studies will be required to undergo and successfully complete a Headstart programme.

 

A : Candidates with the following criteria will be eligible to be considered for admission into the master programmes:

(1) Regular Entry
      For candidates who possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree with Honours
    OR
  • Bachelor’s degree without Honours with two years of working experience at supervisory or managerial level

(2) Open Entry

(I) Age
    Candidates must be at least 35 years of age on 1st January of the year of application.
 
    AND
 
(II) Academic Qualifications
 
    The candidate must possess a minimum of STPM or equivalent qualifications
 
    AND
 
(III) Relevant Work Experience
    The candidate must possess a minimum of two years of work experience at supervisory or managerial level

AND

The candidate has to undergo an assessment of his/her readiness for post-graduate study by taking a management diagnostic test known as the Commonwealth Management Aptitude Test (CEMAT), which is an international test instrument developed by the Commonwealth of Learning, Vancouver, specifically for the CeMBA/CeMPA programmes.
Q : When can I apply?
A : You can apply anytime throughout the year. However, there are only two intakes in a year (January and July semesters). Your application into a particular semester should reach Wawasan Open latest one (1) week before the semester commence.
Q : How do I apply?
A : The following are ways you can apply:
  • Walk into any of our Regional Offices or main campus to obtain the application form; OR
  • Apply via on-line via our website (www.wou.edu.my) OR
  • Walk into any of our preview sites or road shows; OR
  • Request for a hard copy application form to be sent to you.
Q : What are the documents or items required when I submit my application?
A : The items/documents are:
  • All relevant academic qualifications / transcripts / certificates (certified true copy)  
  • One copy of your IC 
  • Two passport-sized photographs

If you are applying on-line, you need to submit a hard copy of the supporting documents as soon as possible for the application to be processed.

Q : When will I know the result of my application?
A : You will be advised on the results of your application when you have met with the counsellors at the Regional Office and upon verification of the relevant documents.
Q : When can I get my student card?
A : Upon full acceptance and complete payment of fees, you can go to your selected Wawasan Open's Regional Office to get your student card.
Q : What if I lost or damaged my student card?
A : You may request for a replacement by submitting the Application for Replacement of Student Identity Card form to the Regional Office and pay  a fee of RM50.
