How To Enrol
You may apply to study at WOU via online or by completing the application form and send it to our main campus or regional centres, together with the necessary documentation. Entry requirements for undergraduate programmes can be found here and those for postgraduate programmes can be found here.
Below are the intake dates for Part-Time Study:
- January 2017 Intake: 9 January 2017
- April 2017 Intake: 27 March 2017
- July 2017 Intake: 10 July 2017
- September 2017 Intake: 25 September 2017
The schedule of fees is here: Your total tuition fees in each semester depend on the number of courses for which you enrol.
Payment may be made at the main campus or at the regional centres. Payment is accepted by cheque (payable to Wawasan Open University Sdn Bhd), bank draft, money/postal order, credit card or by ATM cards issued by most major Malaysian banks. All fees must be paid in full at the time of registration and no later than the first week after the commencement of the semester. You will be fined a late payment penalty if all fees are not paid on time and may lose access to WOU facilities, tutorials and examinations.
Apply for Financial Assistance
Help is available to students who need financial assistance in the following ways:
a. Wawasan Education Foundation Study Grant
WOU offers a Return-To-Study Allowance (RTSA) to all new students who enrol for its undergraduate programmes.
Please contact your nearest Regional Centre for further details on the terms and conditions.
c. WOU 10th Anniversary Rebate
In conjunction with its 10th year anniversary celebration, WOU is offering a special 10% tuition fee rebate for the first semester to all new undergraduate and postgraduate students who enrol for the January, April, July or September 2017 intake.
d. Employees Provident Fund (EPF)
EPF contributors can withdraw from their EPF Account II to support their studies. To apply, please obtain the Borang KWSP 9H (AHL) from the nearest EPF office and liaise with your nearest Regional Centre to obtain the relevant supporting letters from WOU.
Note: WOU only charges fees on a per semester basis. Any excess EPF funds parked with WOU will not be construed as advance payment for tuition fee and is not interest bearing.
e. National Higher Education Fund / PTPTN
WOU Undergraduate Programmes qualify for PTPTN loans. Please refer to www.ptptn.gov.my for terms and conditions. Please contact your Regional Centre for assistance and advice.
f. Bank Loans
Certain banks may provide study loans. Please check with your respective bank for further details.
g. Instalment Plans
Instalment payment plans are available in special circumstances. Please consult your nearest Regional Centre for further details.
h. Lifelong Learners/Orang Kurang Upaya (OKU) Discount
WOU offers a discount of 50% for learners aged 55 years and above (undergraduate only) as well as those who are physically disabled and registered with the Social Welfare Department of the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development.
i. 0% easy payment system
WOU tuition fees qualify for a 6 month 0% easy payment scheme when you pay using a Maybank, Alliance or Hong Leong credit card. For further information, please contact your nearest Regional Centre.
j. Bursary Award
The Bursary Award is applicable to new undergraduate students who are below 21 years old and enrol in a minimum of two courses. The students will enjoy tuition fee discounts based on academic performance in their STPM/A-Level/UEC.
k. Corporate Partnership Programme
Special tuition fee rebates are given to employees of partner corporations. We invite employers to join WOU's corporate partnership scheme for free to enable their employees to receive rebates when they pursue tertiary qualifications at the University.
l. Chancellor's Merit Scholarship
The Chancellor’s Merit Scholarship is awarded every semester to students who exhibit academic excellence and attain a high grade point average. Terms and conditions and the application form may be found here.
