The Job
- Report to the Vice-Chancellor via the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), the Dean serves as the chief academic leader and administrator of the School and represents the School in Senate, Management Board and other University/external meetings.
- Develop programmes leading to certificate, diploma, degree and postgraduate qualifications in Education, Language and Communications.
- Plan and oversee the development and delivery of courses offered by the School
- Plan, recruit, train and supervise the work of the academic staff in the delivery of courses in the ODL mode.

Requirements
- Applicants should possess a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline and at least 10 years of working experience at a senior level in higher education.
- A track record of extensive academic and administrative experience.
- Demonstrated experience in programme development.
- Previous working experience in an open and distance education environment would be a distinct advantage as would a high level of oral and written competence in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.

The Job

Purchasing Manager
The Job
- Handle all areas in sourcing, procurement and receiving of purchases.
- Ensure compliance to purchasing protocols of the University.
- Set up and maintain a costs database of purchases.
- Assist in all financial and accounts-related functions of the purchasing process.
- Administer the insurance and risk management functions for the University.

The Job

Assistant Human Resource Manager
The Job
- Staffing - recommend recruitment strategies, participate in roadshows and career fairs and tighten on-time delivery of human resources.
- Performance Management – assist in managing the performance management system and administering annual pay reviews.
- Employee Services and Relation – help to organise employee welfare activities, handle and participate in employee survey.

Information Technology Department
Systems & Network Engineers
The Job
- Configure and administrate the University’s Windows 2003, Netware, Linux and Unix Server Platform, associated application and services, monitor the physical server and operating system including rectifying issues, OS Security Patching (Client & Server) and Testing and manage Active Directory and LDAP.
- Perform system backup, security and data backup.
- Carry out vendor management as well as liaise with SI on problem rectification and preventive action plans.
- Administer the University’s LAN/WAN networking/data communication technologies such as CISCO, devices, VPN, security devices and switches.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree with emphasis in a computer-related field or the equivalent skills and knowledge.
- Other qualifications: MCSE/SA, CCNA certifications would be a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 4 years working experience with IT infrastructure management.
- Possess strong technical skills in set up and managing Windows 2003, Netware, Linux and Unix Servers, LDAP, Active Directory and e-Directory.

The Job
- Conduct requirement studies and analyse technology trends to provide support for ITS budgetary, administration, operations planning and service delivery.

IT Support Engineers
The Job
- Monitor, maintain, assist, assign, respond and track the University’s Help Desk requests; analyse user problems, requests and questions; researches solutions; provides explanations and instruction to resolve computer issues and orient users with network sign-on procedures, email archiving procedures and new hardware/software.
- Maintain network PC/laptop systems and printers. Install, maintain, implement and troubleshoot workstation software applications and hardware as well as configure and maintain user accounts on network and perform system relocations.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree with emphasis in a computer-related field or the equivalent skills and knowledge with minimum of 3 years experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Novell GroupWise, Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server and Apple OSX. Handle antivirus and backup software, general office equipment such as projectors, facsimile machines, photocopiers as well as personal and network printers. Previous experience with Novell GroupWise, Netware File Services and Mdaemon is desirable.

Application Developers/Analyst Programmers
The Job
- Design new programs and integrate processes. This may be custom or involve adaptation of or integration to third party packaged applications software.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree with emphasis in a computer-related field or the equivalent skills and knowledge.
- Other qualifications: MCSD, MCAD and/or Linux/MYSQL/PHP certifications are desirable. In addition, experience with Enterprise Systems support and Library Information Systems program integration would be a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 4 years software development expertise in Windows and/or Linux platforms.

The Job
- Responsible for the administration of database systems including installation, maintenance, optimisation, security, backup recovery and capacity planning.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in a computer-related field with a minimum of 4 years working experience in database administration.
- Proficient with extensive knowledge and experience in database features, functionalities and performance tuning, preferably in cross-platform experience in MSSQL, MYSQL, Postgres and Oracle 10g.

Executive/Officer
The Job
- Manage all building maintenance contractors who are dealing with building service installations, plumbing and drainage systems as well as building structure, fabric, fitting, furniture, etc.
- Handle and manage training workshops for staff and subordinates within the Planning, Development and Facilities Maintenance Division of GSA.
- Responsible for the maintenance, upkeep and improvement of the University’s building facilities within the stipulated resource usage and budget.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree or the equivalent in M&E/Estate Management/Property Management.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial and high-rise building management covering M&E tasks, lifts, air-conditioning, plumbing and drainage, fire fighting, landscaping, clearing, minor and major tasks, security as well as CCTV and PABX systems.

Gardener cum General Worker
The Job
- Seasonal maintenance of flowers, shrubs, kitchen gardens, woodland gardens and parks with specialized
historic and botanic plant collections including trees, hedges, shrubs, herbaceous plants and annuals.
- Assistant other garden staff in planting and weed control.

Senior Instructional Designer/ Instructional Designers
The Job
- Convert raw written materials into instructionally sound course materials in print and web-based modes.
- Schedule of web presentations and monitor forums in the Learning Management System.

Assistant Marketing Manager - Marcom
The Job
- Develop and execute integrated marketing and communications plans, branding and increasing enrolment growth for the University.
- Develop media relation and advertising plans. Prepare advertising schedule and ensure that all media-related projects are implemented correctly and in timely manner.
- Complete projects on time, within budget and keep timely reports on status and progress.
