The organisational structure

The Vice Chancellor is the chief executive and academic officer of the university. It is the duty of the Vice Chancellor to ensure that the provisions of the university's constitution and its regulations are observed, and he is conferred the powers necessary for this purpose. The Vice Chancellor shall, subject to the provisions of the constitution, exercise general supervision over the arrangements for instruction, research, finance, administration, welfare and discipline in the university, and may also exercise such other powers as may be conferred upon him by the constitution and regulations.

The Vice Chancellor is supported by three Deputy Vice Chancellors and the Assistant Vice Chancellor (Academic Support) who are responsible for Academic, Operations, and Strategy, Planning and Continuing Education.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic will oversee the deans of four schools (namely, the School of Foundation and Liberal Studies, School of Business and Administration, School of Science and Technology, and the School of Education, Languages and Communications), the Director of Centre for Graduate Studies and Registrar.

Deans of the respective schools will be responsible for their academic staff members. In addition, the schools are supported by other academic and administrative departments.

On the other hand, the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Operations will oversee the various departments responsible for finance, human resources, regional office management, IT services, marketing, communications, and general services and administration.

Meanwhile the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Strategy, Planning and Continuing Education (SPACE) will oversee strategy and planning, and also the Centre for Professional Development and Continuing Education (PACE). The Centre will focus on two important components of adult education - professional development and continuing education.  It hopes to provide working adults with a range of short-term professional development courses conceived with current industry and commercial input.

The Assistant Vice Chancellor (Academic Support) will provide strategic leadership on the way educational products and services are delivered to our students and directly oversee the operations of the Educational Technology and Publishing as well as the Learning and Library Services Units.
