| Where can I
study? |
Wawasan Open University has set up
Regional and Learning Centres in various locations
i.e. Penang, Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur, Bandar Utama, Johor
Bahru and Kota Bharu. These centres will have basic
facilities for tutoring and learning e.g. library,
study area, classrooms, etc.
With
Wawasan Open University's online learning facilities
and e-library you can also study at home,
workplace, and public libraries or during your
business trips.. |

| Yes, you will have the opportunity
to meet your coursemates during your tutorials, day
schools or laboratory sessions. |

computer and Internet access when pursuing my
studies in Wawasan Open University? |
| Highly advisable for you to have
access to a computer and to the Internet facilities.
However, if you do not have such amenities, all
Wawasan Open University Regional Centres provide
self access computing facilities to facilitate your
learning. Apart from that, all our course materials
are specially designed to cater for the needs of
open distance learners. |

language used during tutorials? |
| Tutorials are conducted in
English. |

| What if my
standard of English is not very good? |
| Wawasan Open University offers
foundation courses in English to strengthen your
basic competencies in English language. Apart from
that, it is compulsory for students to enrol
for university courses such as Communication for
Workplace, English for the Workplace and Writing
Skills for University Studies to enhance their
English proficiency before embarking on higher level
courses. |

| Approximately 1:30 for
undergraduate courses and 1: 25 for postgraduate

| Who conducts
the tutorials? |
| Tutorials are conducted by tutors
who are recruited from universities and private
institutions of higher learning as well as from
the industry. They are selected for their specialist
knowledge in specific courses and their teaching
abilities. |

| What are the
qualifications of your tutors? |
| Tutors will have at least a
Bachelor’s degree for undergraduate courses and at
least a Master's degree for postgraduate courses in
the relevant field and possess at least two years
teaching experience or relevant working experience
in a senior position in the private or public
sector. |

| How many
tutorials are there in a semester? |
| In general, there
are five tutorials in every semester for most
courses. However, some Science and Technology
courses may have more than five tutorials. |

| When will I
get my timetable? |
| You can get your timetable from
your Regional Centre upon enrolment. |
| |
|
| |
| If there is a
clash in my timetable, what should I do? |
| Please contact your Regional Centre
Manager and apply for a tutorial group reallocation. |

| Will I be
required to attend all my tutorials? |
| Tutorials are not mandatory but it
is highly advisable for students to attend all the
tutorial sessions. |

| What is
conducted during the tutorials? |
| During tutorials, tutors will
provide constructive feedback on your Tutor-Marked
Assignments (TMAs) as well as valuable guide to help
you advance in the course. |

| What are the
deadlines for the submission of my Tutor-Marked
Assignments (TMAs)? |
Please check the Online Assignment Submission (OAS) system or the Student
Handbook for details of your TMA submission deadlines.

| Can I submit
my TMAs on-line? |
| Yes, students are encouraged to
submit TMAs online. As of July 2009 semester, most
courses have made it compulsory for students to
submit their TMAs online. Students should therefore
check WawasanLearn for those courses that still
allow hardcopy submission. |

| What will
happen if I am not able to submit my TMA on time? |
| Please contact your Regional Centre
Manager or tutor if you are not able to submit your
coursework on time. You may apply for the deadline
extension for submission of TMAs. Please get the
form from your Regional Centre. You can also apply
for TMA extension through the Online Assignment
Submission System (OAS). |
