Programme description
Intelligent systems are used in homes, in offices, in the manufacturing and service industries, as well as in defence and aerospace industries. Non-invasive diagnoses of diseases will depend more and more on intelligent imaging equipment. Governments and business corporations are increasing the use of intelligent systems for planning and decision-making. Faced with global competition, industry will use such systems to improve productivity and promote innovative product development. Intelligent planning and decision making are vital tools in promoting sustainable development.
Job prospects
This degree will provide a strong grounding in computing and artificial intelligence (AI) tools so that a graduate can apply effectively to raise productivity. Graduates will be well suited for careers in the hi-tech industrial, security and medical equipment sectors. Job positions opening with this degree include AI Applications Developer, Expert Systems Developer, Image Processing Engineer, Systems Simulation Engineer, Expert Systems Engineer, Research and Development Engineer, Systems Security Engineer, and Systems Consultant.
