The last day to add course(s) is one(1) week before the commencement of the semester for new students and one(1) after the commencement of the semester for continuing students.

What is the difference between withdrawing from a course and dropping a course?

If you drop a course latest by the 9th week of the semester, it will be officially removed from your record and will not appear in your transcript. A course withdrawal process is undertaken when you miss the drop course deadline and are unable/not ready to sit for the final exam of the course. By applying for withdrawal of course, the course will still appear in your transcript but with a "W" grade (withdrawal with permission).

What if I do not apply for a withdrawal from a course and do not turn up for the final exam?
You will obtain a fail (“F”) grade.

When can I withdraw from a course?

You should apply for withdrawal from a course no later than the 16th week of the semester.

How do I apply for a withdrawal from courses?

You may do so by completing the  Application for Withdrawal of Course form and submitting it to your Regional Office.

What is deferment of studies?
Students who have been formally enrolled may apply for deferment of studies (leave of absence) for any particular semester thereafter. Students who have formally applied and obtained approval for deferment of studies will not have to re-apply for admission when they intend to continue their studies later.

How long can I defer my studies?
Your approved deferment period will lapse upon the next offering of the same course(s).

How do I apply for deferment of my studies?

You may do so by completing the Application for Deferment of Studies form and submit to your Regional Office.
